Refund Rhino · Notices & reviews
IRS letter? Take a breath.
Most IRS notices are routine requests for information or explanations of changes. A tax professional can help you understand what yours means and what to do next.
How we can help
Notice review
We read your notice with you, explain what the IRS is asking for, and outline your options and deadlines.
Return review
A second look at a return you prepared yourself or that was prepared elsewhere, before or after filing.
Corrections
If something needs fixing, we can help prepare a response or an amended return for you to review and sign.
Representation before the IRS (for example, in audits, collections, or appeals) is offered only where an authorized professional such as a CPA, enrolled agent, or attorney is available.
First steps when a notice arrives
- Read it carefully and note the response deadline.
- Compare it with the return it refers to.
- Don't ignore it, even if you disagree.
- Watch for scams. The IRS generally first contacts you by mail, and won't demand immediate payment by gift card, wire, or crypto, or threaten arrest.
- Share the notice with us only through the secure upload link we send you, never by regular email, text, or social media.
