Information we collect

Information you provide on our website forms: name, email, phone number, state, the type of help you need, optional free-text details, and your contact and marketing consent choices. Our website forms are not designed to collect Social Security numbers, tax documents, bank details, or identity documents, and we ask you not to submit them.

Information collected automatically: pages visited, referring links and campaign tags (such as UTM parameters and ad click identifiers), device and browser information, and cookies or similar technologies used for analytics and advertising measurement.

Tax return information

Documents and information you share to have your return prepared are collected only through our secure client portal, not through this website. Tax return information is protected under federal law, including Internal Revenue Code section 7216 and the FTC Safeguards Rule. We do not use or disclose tax return information for marketing, or share it with advertising platforms, without your separate written consent where required by law.

How we use information

To respond to your requests, connect you with a tax professional, schedule consultations, send messages you have agreed to receive, measure and improve our website and advertising, and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate our business, including Webflow (website hosting and forms), Zapier (workflow automation), monday.com (client request tracking), Slack (internal team notifications), Google Workspace (email), RingCentral (calls and text messages), Mailchimp (email newsletters, only if you opt in), and our professional tax preparation software provider. We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate our business, such as hosting, phone and text messaging, and email providers. They process it only on our behalf and may not use it for any other purpose. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws, such as the right to know what personal information we hold about you, and to request that we correct or delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your request before acting on it, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we use it only to contact you about your request and our tax services.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We may share your number only with service providers that help us deliver our messages (such as our phone and text provider), and they may not use it for any other purpose.

We do not send tax return details or sensitive personal information by ordinary text message.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, opt out of texts by replying STOP, and adjust cookies in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information. Contact us to make a request.

Security and retention

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, and retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We keep contact and request information for up to 3 years after our last interaction with you. We keep tax returns and supporting records for at least 3 years after filing, as required for paid tax preparers, and up to 7 years where needed to support your return. We keep records of text message consent and opt-outs for at least 4 years. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or destroy it.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online.
